Trying the Foot-Hi Pie
Last Thursday and Friday my wife and I took a short trip to St. Charles, MO to relax. On the way there, we passed, for probably the 100th time, the signs that advertised Foot-Hi Pies at the Blue Springs Cafe in Highland, IL. The sign mentioned that the cafe had been featured on The Food Network, and I remembered seeing the episode of whichever show it was on. I was determined that I would FINALLY stop there and try the pie. We did so on the way back.
As you might imagine, the pies that are tall feature some basic pie with a mountain of meringue. I chose the chocolate meringue pie. My wife decided to go with a regular fruit pie, which was regular size. Mine, however, was pretty tall:
And I have to tell you ... it was goooooooooooooooooood!

How much of that stayed in your 'Stache until you got home?
Friday the 12th? Did you play at Ameristar at all? I played a short session there Friday night.
Holy Guacamole, thats some pie. Hmm I'm getting hungry.
@ Iron Mike Sharpe -- I played at Ameristar late Thursday night (looked like a pro) and Friday afternoon (made a donkey move). I might write up a review when I get time. Nice room but I was not impressed with the management.
Looking at that picture makes the salad I'm currently eating much, much worse . . .
I've only started to add Ameristar into my rotation. I bought a house about a mile or two away from there so it is now the closest to my house. I used to never play there (only been playing for three years now) because it had the least amount of games running and was the furthest from my old residence.
Looking at Bravo, they still don't appear to have many games going during the week, but will have about 4 NL games on the weekend. So, I've been going there every now and then.
I have no opinion of the mgmt so far, haven't really had much interaction with them. They used to have a $2 jackpot drop and that is another reason why I never went.
It will be interesting to see what happens to that room once the Pinnacle deal is finalized (Pinnacle Entertainment has an agreement to buy the Ameristar chain pending Pinnacle selling their downtown STL casino, Lumiere Place).
The downtown casino has the best games in town, at least on weekends. You get a great mix of people downtown for sporting events, drunks who were partying on Laclede's Landing and the urban demographic from the close by north side of the city. All of which make for some wild, loose games.

Damn that's a good looking piece of pie!! Jealous!
