Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon? How About One Degree?

Last night something spurred me on to think about someone with whom I had a close connection. In previous posts I have mentioned the serial killers I have known. However, I thought it might be fun to play the Kevin Bacon game, but wanted to make it more challenging by making it only ONE DEGREE of separation. I'll start us off:

Influential American author. I used to work with his mother.

Miss America 2003, currently running for the U.S. Congress. I work with her mother.

Singer/Songwriter/Musician best known for monster hit Somebody That I Used to Know. He is a former student of my brother, the King of Komps.

I've got at least one more that I can think of, but I thought it might be fun to find out the connections of some of my readers. So ... if you know someone who has a close connection to someone famous -- only one degree of separation -- let's hear about it.

Shouldn't my pic be here also? After all, I am famous in Melbourne for my radio footy broadcasts for five years. And there was a TV segment about me on FoxFooty Australia. I even was asked for my autograph when visiting Melbourne. That should count for something, right?

I only have one that I can think of. I went to church with a young man who is now the guitarist in Katy Perry's band. He also appears in the Red Hot Chili Peppers music video for "Tell Me Baby."

My third cousin is George Burns. He's dead, but does that count for anything?

I went to high school with George Jones' son and daughter in law.

A friend is Reba McEntire's first cousin.

Another friend is married to Tracy Byrd's former manager. (This may be two degrees, so I'll need a ruling here)

All country music stars for this Texas boy. What are the odds?

I went to school with D.A. Points, who's now golfing on the PGA tour. He's a year older than I am. He's still a classy guy, too.

I met Jim Schwantz's mother-in-law, she was friends with my grandmother. He's an ex-NFL player, played for the Bears, Cowboys, and 49ers that I'm aware of. Related note--My grandmother went to his wedding, and at the time he played for the Bears, so she met a lot of their players....I wish I could have been there.

A cousin of mine is married to Kurt Warner's brother, Matt.
